A Thank You

It was such fun making the collaborative kit Summer Solstice with Nikki
I am grateful for all the comments and download on the kit too. Thank you . It was a much needed boost after the lousy personal response from one store recently. I am glad to see that clean and classic still works for some people despite what that store said.
So now it's back to work on something else and I have applied to a few stores hoping for the best. If nothing else I just enjoy creating for fun .
It's been a hot one today and I waiting for a little rain or thundershower, not sure we will get it as they are predicting a H-H-H weekend.
Yesterday took the fur baby to Pet Smart for a new harness. Honestly it is like bringing a child to the toy store. Pet Smart knows just what they are doing too , they put the toys and goodies right in a dogs reach. Yesterday the toys were not such a big attraction as usual , her attention was focused on flirting with a basset hound. I guess she just goes for the soulful look of the hounds, she was always happy to be with my beagle too, or she likes the sporty type.
So in either case we walked out of there with a new harness, matching leash , some dog treats and doggy wet washes, in a lovely gentle vanilla fragrance, and big surprise NO TOY. Not that she really needs another she has a basketful to play with, but not unlike 2 legged kids , she plays with the same toys over and over. However if you should take one away she knows it and will go looking for that one. It never fails to amaze me tho that the toys she loves best are her size or bigger then she is and she will traipse them all over the house.
Needed an ice coffee after that so stopped at Dunkin Donuts for a coffee and one munchkin. She will eat the one munchkin most days but because it was so hot she wanted the ice in the coffee . The lady at the window commented on how many people will buy one munchkin and they always know it is for a pet .
Friday night , it is quiet and too hot , just hanging out for some scrapping time and staying where the ac is .

Ta dah!.... Summer Solstice Collab Kit Freebie

Here is Summer Solstice . When Nikki Fabulous Designs mentioned we could try a collaboration kit she told me to pick some colours and she would pick some colours and we would go from there. I had a small group of colours that I really liked and showed them to her, and she said, oh I have some already pretty close to that. So there were the muses working on both of us.
Of course life being as it is(family , colds, moving etc) this is coming a while after actual summer solstice. I do hope you will enjoy it ,and if you make something with it I would love to see it.

Steaks &

So here I am thinking that if I wait until later in the day to post I might have something to share , but the day has run away and tho I accomplished laundry and marinating dinner , and believe it or not still working on unpacking.
The marinate recipe is below and I got it from AllRecipes.com sometime ago and have used it quite frequently. I regret that I didn't keep the entire part of it with the name of person who had contributed it , but I cut it down to fit on an index card in my recipe box and had left that out. It works wonderfully on steak and other kinds of beef too.
Beef it's what's for dinner tonight lol.

I feel really fortunate having worked with this fabulous designer and learning some new skills and getting some good feedback on how to do things a bit differently .Mwah! to her for her patience, skills and time.She really is fabulous.
I am like a little kid just dying to give a present , But have to have patience. I am well known for buying early holiday or birthday gifts and giving them in advance because I get so I can't wait to give the gift. So make sure you pop in Wednesday.

Marinade for Steak

Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Ready In: 10 Minutes
Yields: 2 servings
It contains basic ingredients that, when combined and allowed to blend, will give you a tender, juicy piece of meat every time."
INGREDIENTS:
1 tablespoon and 1-3/4
teaspoons vegetable oil
2-1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
1-1/2 teaspoons red wine
vinegar
1-1/4 teaspoons fresh lemon
juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire

sauce
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground
black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Dijon-style
prepared mustard
1/8 onion, sliced
1/4 clove garlic, minced
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a medium bowl, combine the oil, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, ground black pepper, mustard, onion, and garlic. Mix together well, and use to marinate your favorite meat.

Off to get somethings done , before the rest of the day just slips off.

Monday and raining ugh the Carpenters didn't like it much either. Oh well. Off to play Bingo this afternoon with some of the neighbors. It's not a big game but the jackpot can be $40-$50 that's a lot of digi store shopping .

Scrap Freebie -SeashoreDinner and Ranting

I can not understand the mind of some fellow scrappers. What gives them the right to be insulting when hiding behind the veil of a computer. I applied to a store recently , and was told that my age makes my designs "too old style", that said store has demographics to younger people bringing up families and that what I make is for "older scrappers" that I just don't have the style for younger ones, with teenagers and little kids ( I guess 45 is ancient) and beyond that I design in PSP which is just not good enough. I have to say I am seeing red on this , and a little hurt too because this comes from so called scrapping friends and I just don't get the BS. Then on the second sentence I am told , well we don't want you to sell some where else , but when you are better and maybe invest in another program #&$^%! Like I can afford to spend a bundle on so said program mentioned . Then they add oh your colours and ideas are very good but "old style" .Attack me personally for age and not for quality of work. So I am angry and was thinking I will just give up the whole crazy idea of designing. Instead , I channeled that energy and have started on another little kit I will be sharing in bits called Seashore Dinner the first part of it is here . The rest will come later in the week as I"ll be posting a collaboration kit I worked on with another designer around mid week. As for said store, with attitude like this it amazes me they keep designers. What a lame , sorry excuse.. crude and rude! Sorry for the rant . Here's your freebie....

Saturday

The beans are almost finished cooking, they smell wonderful. Something about Saturday and home made beans in a bean pot bubbling away. Brings fond memories of growing up when on Saturdays it was always hot dog and beans or some sort of sausage and beans, and the wonderful brown bread with raisins. Seemed like dessert rather then something to go with dinner.
The cook out is this afternoon and , hoping the humidity holds off until later . I hope to get some more scrapping done later in the day and work on a kit that I been playing with to share.

Midnight Friday/Saturday

Not sure I will get to a freebie tonight still trying to get some layouts done and baking a big crock of cowboy beans for the tenant association cook out/ picnic , for Saturday afternoon. Still need to run to the grocery in morning for one of those toss away pans , don't like to leave them in my bean pot , it is ancient and makes the best beans , plus it is handed down from my gram. Can't find them in this huge size any more, so don't want to take the chance of it going missing.
